The People companion allows users to quickly look up anybody in their enterprise, browse organizational charts, view contact information, and easily communicate with colleagues.
Search for contacts by entering keywords like name, title, location, department, project, and skill in the search box.
Select a person to view their profile, which includes roles, contact information, and other details.
Hover over a person and select Navigate to [person]’s org chart to open their organizational chart.
To pin a contact, open the More options menu and select Add to Favorites. To remove, select Remove from Favorites.
Availability badges indicate if a person is free. Hover over their profile photo to see additional details such as working hours, time zone, and work location.
Send quick Teams messages by hovering over a contact, selecting Send a quick message, typing a message, and selecting Send. Start a Teams call by selecting Start a video call with [person] in Teams or compose an email from the More options menu.
The File Search companion allows you to efficiently locate and launch your files within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Search for Microsoft 365 files across OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, and other services. The home page displays recently accessed files, while the search box allows searching by file name or contents.
Filter search results using people and file type options. First, select a person filter, then choose a descriptor like Created, Shared, Edited, or @Mentioned.
Hover over a file and select Preview to view its contents without opening it.
Share files by selecting the More actions menu and choosing Share. Alternatively, select Copy link to generate a shareable link.
Customize where files open by selecting More app options > Settings > File Preferences, then choosing Desktop (default) or Browser.
